FAQs - Treatment and results
Are the treatments painful?
1
Most treatments involve minimal discomfort, although this varies depending on the procedure and individual sensitivity. Where appropriate, we use topical numbing creams to help keep you comfortable. Many of our injectable products also contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that helps minimise discomfort during treatment.
How long do dermal fillers last?
2
We use Juvéderm® dermal fillers, a premium range of hyaluronic acid-based fillers developed by Allergan Aesthetics. Juvéderm is well known for its smooth consistency, natural-looking results and versatility across different treatment areas. Its hyaluronic acid formulation helps restore volume, enhance facial contours and soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Depending on the product used, the area treated, your metabolism and individual lifestyle factors, results can typically last between 9 and 24 months. Your practitioner will recommend the most suitable Juvéderm product based on your facial anatomy and desired results.
When will I see results from
anti-wrinkle injections?
3
You may begin to notice the effects within 3–5 days, with the full results usually developing over approximately 10–14 days. Results vary between individuals, and a follow-up appointment may be recommended where appropriate.
Can I have treatments if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
4
Yes. Our practitioners are appropriately trained, qualified and insured to perform the treatments they offer. We are committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety and client care.
Will my results look natural?
5
Absolutely! Our philosophy is centred on subtle, natural-looking enhancement. We aim to refresh and enhance your natural features while maintaining your individual facial characteristics. Every treatment is tailored to your needs and desired results, without unnecessarily altering your appearance.
FAQs - Safety and aftercare
Is there any downtime after treatment?
1
Downtime depends on the treatment you receive. Many treatments involve minimal downtime, although temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur. These effects often settle within a few days, but recovery times vary depending on the procedure and individual response. Your practitioner will explain what to expect before your treatment.
What should I avoid after my treatment?
2
Aftercare advice varies depending on the treatment performed. Following injectable treatments, we generally recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat for at least 24–48 hours, or as advised by your practitioner. You should also follow any specific skincare and sun protection guidance provided for your treatment.
What should I do if I experience a side effect?
3
Mild swelling, redness and bruising can be normal after some treatments. However, if you experience severe or increasing pain, unusual skin blanching (the skin turning white), mottled or dusky skin, or any other concerning symptoms following an injectable treatment, seek urgent medical assessment and contact the clinic immediately using the emergency contact details provided.
Can I wear makeup after my procedure?
4
After injectable treatments, we generally recommend waiting at least 12 hours before applying makeup and longer if advised by your practitioner. This helps reduce the risk of irritation or infection around the injection sites. Following other treatments, such as chemical peels, microneedling or laser procedures, you may need to avoid makeup for longer. Always follow the specific aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner.
